From this autumn, a new air bridge that will connect Palanga Airport and the city of Bergen in Norway is launched. Flights from Palanga to the second largest Norway\u2019s city will be operated by the airline Norwegian Air Shuttle. Flights will be conducted from October twice a week \u2013 on Wednesdays and Saturdays. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very pleased that such a destination is opened at Palanga Airport. Up till now, residents of our country were able to reach the capital of Norway \u2013 Oslo, however, due to increase in demand, we succeeded in finding possibilities to expand also the geography of routes in this country of Scandinavia\u201d, stated Mr. Aurimas Stikli\u016bnas, Head of the Aviation Services Division of Lithuanian Airports. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the expert, an interest in the opportunities offered by this destination has been felt not only on part of Lithuanian residents, but also in Norway, where our country has been increasingly more often mentioned as a great place for vacations, tourism or active leisure. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Representatives of associations operating at the Lithuanian seaside claim that about 300 Norwegian capital companies run business in our company, a part of which are situated or are operated namely in Klaip\u0117da Region. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is foreseen in the \u201cStrategy for the economic development of Klaip\u0117da by 2030\u201d and the partners implementing it place a special focus on Norway. Consistent efforts are put to strengthen cooperation links with this country in the maritime industry by attracting investment projects of the Norwegian capital in the field of production and especially services centres. The promotion of communication between Klaip\u0117da and Norway by the air transport is one of essential directions for the economic development of Klaip\u0117da\u201d, told Mr. Kazys Pupinis, Head of Klaip\u0117da ID business projects.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
