On Sunday, December 20th, Lithuania’s Government announced a suspension of all passenger flights inbound from the United Kingdom due to the worsening epidemiological situation. 43.3 thousand passengers travelled through Lithuanian Airports in November (77 thousand in October). As usual, the largest share of passengers flew via Vilnius Airport (32.5 thousand), and 7.6 thousand passengers were served at Kaunas Airport in November (17.4 thousand in October). In the Assembly of the Airports Council International (ACI Europe), held on 17 November, Marius Gelžinis, the CEO of Lithuanian Airports, was elected to the Board of this organization. The challenges of the pandemic continue to have negative influence on Lithuanian Airports’ results. In October, the number of passengers decreased by more than 20 percent in comparison with September.
