Customs Control
When travelling to or from non-EU countries, customs control applies if you are carrying:
-
cash amounts exceeding EUR 10,000 (or the equivalent in another currency);
-
goods intended for commercial purposes or exceeding duty-free allowances;
-
items subject to restrictions or prohibitions.
Food Products and Products of Animal Origin
When travelling to or from non-EU countries, it is prohibited to import meat, dairy products and other products of animal origin, including fresh meat, milk, cheese and similar items.
Compliance with these requirements is supervised by the State Food and Veterinary Service.
Medicines and Medical Equipment
Passengers may carry medical equipment and personal-use medication; however, quantities must correspond to the duration of the trip. In certain cases, a doctor’s prescription or medical certificate may be required.
Please note that we recommend carrying medication in your hand baggage at all times.
Plants, Seeds and Products of Plant Origin
When travelling to or from non-EU countries, restrictions apply to plants, seeds, fresh fruits and vegetables and other products of plant origin.
Many such items require a phytosanitary certificate, while others are prohibited from import altogether.
