On March 31stNorwegian launched direct scheduled flights between Palanga and Bergen in Norway. Flights will be operated during the aviation summer season, which lasts until the end of October, twice per week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

“Palanga Airport is growing rapidly – the flight offering is expanding, sought-after destinations are returning, and more and more opportunities are opening up for the residents of the region to travel from their home airport. It is gratifying to see the resumption of the flight between Palanga and Bergen – this is important news for the residents of the seaside and other cities of Western Lithuania, such as Plungė, Telšiai, Šilutė or Mažeikiai, who will again have direct links with the west coast of Norway”, says Roderikas Žiobakas, Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Transport and Communications.

“We are excited to launch the new route between Palanga and Bergen! We see strong interest from both the business community and travelers. This connection opens the door to new opportunities, closer cooperation, and even more reasons to experience everything Bergen and the Palanga region have to offer. We look forward to welcoming our first passengers on board!”, says Magnus Thome Maursund, CCO at Norwegian.

“Record results at Palanga Airport reflect the unfading desire to travel and the continuous belief of airlines in our growing market. With Bergen becoming Norwegian’s second direct route from Palanga alongside Oslo, Western Lithuania’s connectivity with Norway will be more frequent and convenient than ever. I believe this will also become a great opportunity for foreign tourists to get to know the Lithuanian seaside”, says Simonas Bartkus, CEO at Lithuanian Airports.

Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, famous for its unique landscape, fjords, UNESCO World Heritage-listed architecture and cultural traditions. It is an important economic and transport hub of the region and a popular destination among travellers from all over Europe.

Norwegian also operates regular flights from Palanga Airport to the Norwegian capital Oslo. Flight tickets for both routes are sold on the airline’s official website www.norwegian.com

In the record year of 2025, Palanga Airport served almost 448.4 thousand passengers – 18.7% more than in 2024. Palanga Airport also set records at the beginning of 2026 – the number of passengers grew in both January and February.
